Yes, when I asked you to vote on my next summer of Groupon experience the majority told me to try Clay shooting – so here I am…
I don’t think I’ve ever even held a gun before so this was definitely a new adventure for me. luckily the package came with an hour of instruction and the Groupon deal was for 2 people so my dad came with me.
We shot a 20 gauge shot gun. For all of you non-gun experts that is gun terminology for = it’s BIG. Our instructor Mitchell went over all the rules of gun safety and etiquette before we were handed the big guy.
Just the sounds of the guns going off in the distance made me flinch every time. luckily we had ear plugs so once we had the most important information I stuck them in and could still hear Mitchell, but it helped me stop flinching!
It was kind of crazy that after a quick session on how to use the gun I was shooting before I knew it!! Mitchell just loaded the gun, handed it to me and showed me how to hold it properly against my shoulder and put my cheek on it. and it was “Go” time.
Then, he started launching the clays in the air for me to shoot. I wasn’t sure what to expect so my first shot was off but I hit IT ON THE second TRY!! Surprisingly, I was kinda good at it?!!

I had a lot of fun! I really had no idea what to expect or how’d I do since I had never shot a gun before so I was a little surprised by how much I did like it and how not scared I was.
This morning I woke up with a light bruise on my shoulder from the kickback. I was holding the gun correctly, but those repeated hits on my arm took a little bit of a toll. I like it though, chicks dig scars. Alebo niečo.
